"PATIENT & DEDICATED"
At the start of my JC journey, I started off with H2 economics and was barely holding on with S grades and the occasional Us. Thinking I would be able to improve by myself, I continued to try but eventually gave up after getting another S for my mid-year examinations in J2, in which I decided to drop to H1, as well as get a tutor to help me.
Patrick was a very patient and dedicated teacher. He made sure I understood the basic concepts and answered any questions I had about the different topics. He also constantly encouraged and believed in me, using the time wisely with point forms rather than full sentences (unless necessary), making it quick and easy to understand. Moreover, Patrick was very approachable, which allowed me to quickly step out of my comfort zone and ask questions confidently. Although there were differences between H1 and H2 papers, be it the topics tested or the question types, I was able to quickly grasp hold of the H1 format and adapt quickly to it. With just a few lessons, I managed to improve tremendously for my prelims examinations, obtaining my first A in Econs. Nearing to As, Patrick also provided many resources such that I had more than enough practice to get me ready for the last lap. Overall, it was a great learning experience!!

"Patrick is an extremely patient teacher who takes the time to go through topics in a clear and concise manner. He does not cut any corners when going through topics and instead goes the extra mile to ensure that all points are met and that I am able to understand the topic clearly. Patrick takes every class seriously and uses the 2 hours we have to go through as much as he can. He is very professional and ensures that he uses appropriate economic terms to explain topics to his best ability. Unfortunately, the time I had with him was short, spanning only a mere 2 months.
Thankfully, Patrick is really committed to teaching and made the effort to conduct lessons for me twice a week. With his help, I managed to jump from an S to an A in this short period of time! His hardworking attitude, accompanied by easy-to-remember notes played a huge part in allowing me to achieve this feat. He is very encouraging and also welcomes any questions I have, be it from his homework or from my school work. Even though my time with him was short, his teaching really had a large impact on me. It helped me to gain a deeper understanding of economics and made me enjoy studying this subject a lot more. Thank you so much, Patrick, for helping me to achieve this grade. "The tuition is completely worth it. I went from knowing basically nothing and getting U's to a C grade. Without James, I would not have passed my H2 Economics at A levels. His classes are informative and interesting, making it easy to understand the concepts and ideas that I found hard to understand at school. He cares for his students and makes them motivated to work hard, study and believe that they can get the grade that they want. "I’ve changed many tutors over the years due to the inability to clique with the respective tutors. Although [you] have only taught me for a short time span, 4 months prior to A levels, the impression left behind have been favorable. During the first lesson, instead of jumping straight to teaching like all tutors, [you] took the time to note down my strengths, weaknesses and way of learning, something which is extremely important as all students learn differently and so different teaching methods should be catered to the different individuals to secure a fulfilling learning environment.
From there, [you] fully understood my essentials and adjusted and created the tools to maximize the improvement on my learning (eg. always drawing mind maps for me to see a bigger picture) Such dedication was able to convey knowledge of complex economics in a manner easily understandable for me. By empathizing and responding to my specific needs, [you] were able to establish a good rapport with me after a while.
In addition to that, as I am not a person to voice out problems during the lesson due to fear of judgment, [your] ability to read my facial expressions like frustration helped me overcome this fear through encouragement and clarifying if I’ve understood each time something had been explained. My dread towards tuition was strong but the effective, engaging, and fun lessons overtime greatly subsided the resentment felt.
